Since gradutating in 2000 with a Masters degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University, Emily has spent the last 20+ years providing social work services to families, groups, and individuals. She works constantly improving upon tried and true evidence based practices and maintains her licensure by the State of Michigan as a Licensed Bachelor of Social Work in accordance with Board requirements for each specialty.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) Trained. Where she really excels is in her extensive training and practice of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) CBT is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems from anxiety to depression, eating disorders, mental illness, and more. Studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life.

Emily is also a practicing clinical hypnotherapist since 2016 (trained by the Clinical Hypnosis Institute of Michigan) with required ongoing traning and hypnotherapy studies to sustain her clinical medical hypnotherapy certification and stay on the leading edge of new treatments.

EMDR Trained by EMDRIA approved professionals. EMDR is an individual therapy for trauma anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, phobias, pain, and addictions. Unlike other treatments that focus on directly altering the emotions, thoughts and responses resulting from traumatic experiences.
